The bridge over Granite Creek has collapsed. Access is only possible by taking a bypass on the west side of the track. This starts 15 metres north of the bridge and rejoins the track approx 100 metres south. The crossing is difficult and only suitable for high clearance vehicles due to large stones and steep banks. It is more difficult and possibly dangerous from the the southern end. Do not attempt the crossing if the creek is in flood. See photos here. | UC Feb 06 |
